Burgozone is a boutique family winery, perched on the slopes of the Danube river, in Northern Bulgaria and overlooking the island of Esperanto. Burgozone is named after the Roman fortress built on the ancient Roman road Via Istrum. As an independent winegrower, we have the ambition to present a new modern and elegant style of Bulgarian wines.

Visit us!

Welcome to Burgozone winery, where you can visit our vineyards, cellar, learn more about the winemaking and, of course, taste our wines.
Burgozone is one of the few Bulgarian wineries, surrounded by its single vineyard. Perched on the banks of the Danube River, near the cities of Oryahovo, Vratsa and Pleven it offers breathtaking views over Esperanto island and Romania. For more information, check the “Region” section.
The winery hosts a number of tasting rooms which can accommodate a total of 50 persons. The Pavilion Belle Vue nestled in the middle of the vineyards offers the best view of vineyards and river in Bulgaria. The Enoteca stays open for visits during the winter months as well. На празнична церемония и отворена дегустация в 5-звездната атмосфера на Hyatt Regency, София, над 500 винени експерти, ценители и винолюбители опитаха на-добрите вина. Благодарим на Di Vino за признанието, честито на призорите и поздравяваме всички колеги за прекрасната работа! Нашето Iris Creation предизвика допълнителен интерес и със сортовете използвани при купажирането, измежду които е рядко срещания Ежиодола. ИРИС червен бленд е доказателство че цялото е повече от сумата на своите части. Това вино от ръчно брано грозде от най-добрите ни парцели е резултат на изкуството на блендиране на каберне совиньон, марселан, сира и малко ежиодола. Виното е създадено за раждането на първия член от третата генерация в семейна изба Бургозоне – Ирис, която вече навърши 10 год. Виното е първото купажно вино, направено в Шато Бургозоне и събира едни от най-интересните сортове от лозята на Бургозоне, като представя стила на избата, характеризиран със свежест, плод и финес. Загадъчно вино, което съчетава характеристиките на всеки един от четирите сорта, за да се получи изключително хармонично и фино вино. С аромати на черни и червени плодове, билки, и дъбово и бутилково стареене, Ирис е елегантно, комплексно вино с дълъг послевкус.

New vintage 2021 is out ! Fresh, Fruity and Fine !

In March, Burgozone released the new vintage 2021 wines from Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Tamyanka. After a long winter and hot summer, which created more work in the vineyards, we enjoy high quality wines, typical of our terroir, in the style of 3Fs - Fresh, Fruity and Fine. Burgozone white wines are characterized by their complexity and good aging potential, which are mainly due to their aging on fine lees from 1 to 6 months. The Burgozone rosé from the 2021 vintage combines citrus aromas with mineral notes. The taste is fresh, exotic and round with long aftertaste, ending with pleasant freshness. Like all Burgozone wines, the wines are 100% vegan.

Burgozone finished the Harvest 2021 ! Expect our new Elegant and Fresh 2021 vintage !

After 55 days Burgozone finished successfully the Harvest campaign 2021. The Harvest was good and we expect the wines of vintage 2021 to be elegant and fresh. Burgozone started the Harvest on September, 3 with Pinot Noir !

After a long winter and a hot summer, Burgozone started the Harvest campaign 2021 on September, 3rd with Pinot Noir for Rose wine. This year we expect a good harvest. The regional weather forecasts in September and October foresee average temperatures of 20C and 18C respectively and few rains, which predisposes for a good and abundant harvest !

Esperanto in the TOP50 wines in Bulgaria by DiVino !

Esperanto named after the beautiful island on the Danube River in front of Burgozone was famous in the sixties for gathering the Esperantists who had the ambition to create a universal language. Esperanto means “one who hopes” and with this wine, Burgozone created a unique blend which we hope will be understood by all our clients worldwide as it is speaking the universal wine language since it is a blend of international varietals Cabernet and Syrah with indigenous Bulgarian variety - Gamza. This wine has already won the hearts of international wine specialists and was awarded with 2 Gold medals from Concours Mondial du Vin and Feminalises and we hope it will gain yours as well.
